Jill Hockemeyer believes childhood should be full of music, color, and creativity, and she built Joyful Creations Studio in New Haven to make that happen. Her studio offers Kindermusik classes for children from birth through age seven, group and private music lessons, and group art classes, along with custom music and art themed parties. Her families value experiences over things, and they come to Jill looking for joy, connection, and support on their parenting journey. Today the studio serves about 90 students each week, with room to grow to twice that number.
With support from the Fortitude Fund, Jill is investing in digital keyboards, headphones, and splitters so she can offer group piano lessons and welcome the many families already asking for them. Looking ahead, she plans to open a second location on the southwest side of Fort Wayne and serve around 200 children a week. At its heart, Joyful Creations Studio is about giving kids a joyful place to discover what they are capable of.
