Courageous Healing is filling a void in the Fort Wayne community.

Janell Lane and her husband, Aaron, are both advocates for mental health outreach to the communities who need it most. They founded Courageous Healing to fill a gap: Mental health services for minorities that are trauma-centered and culturally sensitive.

Although they serve all communities in the Fort Wayne area, Janell and Aaron especially recognize the importance of counseling, consulting, and community outreach for minority groups who are often overlooked when it comes to mental health services.

Courageous Healing maintains a warm and supportive environment where their highly specialized Courageous Coaches walk alongside clients to help them tap into their inner strength. This allows clients at Courageous Healing to achieve the changes they would like to manifest in their lives by unlocking, building, and utilizing the skills they already possess.

The organization’s services include culturally-sensitive, quality individual, couple, and group counseling services; intensive, in-home family interventions; restorative trauma intervention groups; culturally-sensitive consulting and holistic development training; and unique proactive and responsive community outreach and support.

Janell and Aaron are currently in the process of transitioning Courageous Healing away from its for-profit sister company, Courageous Living. Being a non-profit entity separate from Courageous Living will allow the team at Courageous Healing to better serve underserved populations in northeast Indiana.

Courageous Living, the for-profit organization Aaron and Janell co-founded, provides culturally sensitive consulting and training services to companies looking to better interact with diverse clients and customers. Through Courageous Living, they have worked with East Allen County Schools, Ivy Tech Community College, and more.

Janell is looking forward to being a part of the Fortitude Fund community to expand her interaction with other entrepreneurs in the area and taking advantage of the mentorship program.

As Courageous Living and Courageous Healing grow, they want to serve clients on a local and national level respectively, positively impacting minority communities near and far.
