This is one of Upward Language Company’s main goals: To make an engaging language learning app that allows English Language Learners (ELL) to connect with the world around them.

For now, Upward is a subscription-based learning program that includes Learning Articles that provide an interactive way for ELL to learn and practice English.

The program allows intermediate to advanced ELL to take their English speaking ability to the next level, empowering them to live more abundant lives through English and life stage improvements.

Frank Yang, the Founder of Upward Language Company, recognized early on the importance of testing his hypothesis and gaining global insights when creating an app that will be used by people of many different cultures and interests.

The Upward team landed on an app that, once created, will involve social discussion groups, learning articles, guided learning practice, and coaching. The app will also incorporate gamification and competition to make the language learning process more engaging and applicable.

Since becoming a Fortitude Founder, Frank has been able to take Upward to the next level.

Since receiving his micro-grant from the Fortitude Fund, Upward’s subscriber base has grown three times in size. The app is also registered on China’s largest messaging platform, where Frank built a presence of his own.

As Upward moves into the future, Frank hopes to go social and get the app created. To do this, he’s looking for help from global investors and partners.

For now, Frank is enjoying the international success of Upward Language Company and hopes to see the app continue to impact and benefit ELL from around the world every day.
