Failure is part of the creative process. Fear of it keeps us from doing some of our most important work.
In these “Failing Upward” sessions, we will hear the failure stories of local creative entrepreneurs and learn why these stories are essential to the journey toward a vibrant creative community.
We will start our inaugural “Failing Upward” session on Thursday, August 30th with Matt McClure, artist & executive director of Artlink Contemporary Gallery and co-founder of the 212 arts incubator program.
Join us for a conversation about his unusual creative journey and how those failing upward and forward moments helped shape the early success of 212.
The bar will open at 6:00pm, followed by a rare set from Night Is Electricat 6:30pm (playing tracks from their spring 2018 release “Outside My Head…” https://lnk.to/outsidemyhead
It can feel overwhelming and isolating to sustain a creative career – so please join us for a night of inspiration, community, and conversation as together we look through failure — disempower it — and then inspire each other to learn, grow and become all that we can.
Don’t give up! You are not alone.
